Objective:
Children are not young adults. They cannot be simply instructed to open the mouths as the doctor wants to do few fillings. They have to be persuaded, coaxed and distracted. Even if it is their first dental visit, unlike adults, children are afraid of the unknown. One must spend time and effort to gain a child’s trust and then proceed with the treatment. In this session, learn which behavior category the child falls into, what are the strategies to manage behavior of each category and the practical do’s and don’ts of pediatric behavior management.
