The periodontal diseases are initiated by microbial plaque accumulationwhich induces an inflammatory response. This inflammation may progress in certain susceptible individuals to the chronic destructive inflammatory condition termed periodontitis. While microbial and other environmental factors are believed to initiate and modulate periodontal disease progression, there exists strong supporting evidence that genes play a role in the predisposition to and progression of periodontal diseases caused not only by viable bacteria. In such scenario a thorough knowledge towards genetics is a necessity for the utilization of genetic polymorphisms, etiology/iatrogenic cause and also, there is a need to be a development of new statistical analytical methods to combine both genetic and environmental factorsto achieve these goalsawareness and removal of this barrier between genetics and iatrogenic cause is a necessity for proper treatment acknowledgement through advance genetically modified regenerative materials for an end result of welfare of patient.
