OBJECTIVE :
After completing this lecture the participant should be able to have a greater understanding of how botox can be used in dental practice for various pathological conditions and for esthetic purpose.
Botox has vast clinical applications be it dermatology, opthalmology, myogenic conditions, neurologenic conditions, orofacial and dental conditions. There is increasing trends and demand.. In dentistry botox can do a lot of good. Most often, botox in dentistry is used to treat conditions like Myofacial pain disorder, Bruxism, TMDs, facial asymetry, bell's palsy, sialorrhea, short upper lip, gummy smile, smile line correction, muscular hypertrophy, facial aesthetics. It’s a minimally invasive way for people who have issues adjusting to new dentures, as well as lip augmentation. Each of these procedures safely and positively uses botox to help patients feel more comfortable with increased acceptability. Through this session, we’re going to explore some of the different uses of botox in dentistry and how it might be able to help you.
